A day in the life of sorority girls

This is life as it is viewed from a Pi Beta Phi and an Alpha Omicron Pi's perspective. These are our thoughts about life, pranking, school, summer, and God. 2 Corinthians 11:19

Yay for jobs!

So, I am officially doubly employed! Albertson's (full-time) working in produce, and at Famous Footwear. All a girl needs...food and shoes right? I started at Albertson's today....woohoo! I'm off to Butte tomorrow for my little brothers birthday party. He's 6 years old and is so excited to now hold up both hands when he shows people how old he is! Other than looking for jobs, Lexi and I have hiked the M a few times and I have played a few games of tennis, and gone on a few bike rides. On one of mine and my roommates' excursions, we came upon a pond that has some sort of furry mammal in it. There are two of them. We are not sure if they are otters, beavers, or muscrats, but they are cool none-the-less! I've also had the chance to view an amazing double rainbow from my kitchen window which made me praise God for the beauty he sends my way everyday! I don't understand how someone living in Bozeman, especially in the summer, can claim not to believe in the Creator! Honestly people....open your eyes and look around you!! So, enjoy what God has sent you each and everyday, and know that He's showing His love for you in the creation He has made!

Fools!

I just wanted to say that whoever came up with the phrase..."it's like taking candy from a baby" is insane. I had the joy/horror of having to take candy away from one of my nieces today, and let me tell you...that is not an easy task! I think my ears are still ringing from the screaming and crying that followed.

So the next time i ask someone if something is going to be hard, and they tell me it's going to be like taking candy from a baby, i'm probably going to laugh in their face...and then run away. fine.

Who knew?

So, I (Autumn) have been doing interviews, computer battery tests, and filling out applications all week! I'm getting kinda sick of it! But I'm supposed to hear back from a few places on Friday so pray that I get a full time and a part time job so I can live in the lovely town of Bozeman. I played tennis with Brooke yesterday and that was really fun (even though it was about 80 or 85 at the time). I don't think I did two bad considering I can count on my hands the number of times I've ever played...but hopefully I'll play a lot this summer! And after my interview this morning Lexi and I went and hiked the M. It was so fun and an amazingly beautiful day! And since we went early it was only about 70 or 75 out! I'd like to do that quite a few times this summer too. I've also had a crash course in cooking and grocery shopping this week. As a sorority girl all that is taken care of for me. But luckily Lexi has been doing that all semester and she did it last summer too so she showed me what to do! I'm currently sleeping on my friends' couch for 3 weeks until mine and Lexi's apartment opens up. I'm having so much fun and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'd rather sleep on a couch in Bozeman and cook for myself than have a nice comfy bed with free food in Butte!

THIEF!

lilac owners in montana beware!!

My mom goes on walks and cuts lilacs. She says that the ones in the yard are for the owners and the ones in the alley are for everyone. Wow. She's gonna get busted one of these days...It's ok though because it's mother's day.

great runnin'

If anyone is in the great falls area and wants to kill some time, i (sarah) strongly suggest the river's edge trail. You can't miss it. The trail head is a green cabboose. This trail has been a lifesaver for me being home this summer so far. I'm only here for another week and a half or so, but i'm looking forward to using this amazing stress reducer as much as i can.

Now, one might think that having all this extra time on my hands must be great for getting quiet times in all the time. Yeah...i had great plans for that to happen, but for some reason it hasn't been. Well, i guess the pretty simple reason is just me trying to get rid of stress and frustration by jogging or watching movies or reading. So why not pray while i'm running and read the bible instead of other books? Easy...i just want my mind to turn off so i blast fun music while i run and i read books i can get lost in.

So my question to myself is...if i realize all these things and know what i need to do, why aren't i just doing it?
GAH!!

in case anyone was wondering..."gah" is a phrase i commonly use to signify confused frustration...
some other common noises would be:
meh--this is saying 'i don't really care...whatever (that is cheat language for any homestarrunner fans)
pfff--disbelief
heh heh heh---my evil chuckle which can cause autumn ware to spit gum on shana brennan's dining room table while trying to blow a bubble. If anyone doesn't believe me...i got it on video! heh heh heh!!

PS I'm so so so very excited to start work in yellowstone again this summer. I have to wait until the first week in june, but it is going to be so much fun. The only bummer part about it is the fact that i can't eat (or even smell ) marshmallows anymore. S'mores just aren't the same with just chocolate and graham crackers.

--want a s'more? s'more what? How can i have more of something if i haven't had anything yet? You're killin' me smalls!!

I'm bored

Nanny for hire

So, I (Autumn) have been in Billings the past few days watching my two cousins, Tucker and Tyler, while my aunt, uncle, dad, and step-mom party it up in Vegas. It's been pretty good. Tucker goes to school everyday and Tyler goes for 2 hours on Mon, Wed, and Friday. They have had baseball games and school concerts and on Friday they have their school carnival. I have 5 younger siblings but it is definately different getting used to caring for and entertaining two kids 24/7. Oh, I'm also staying in Bozeman this summer instead of going to Butte, which I'm really excited about. So, I gotta get my resume together and go find some jobs! Take it easy!

miracle cure for insomnia

If anyone has ever had insomnia, they know how frustrating it can be. You lay in bed exhausted but unable to fall asleep. That was how i (sarah) spent the last 3 weeks of my semester. Either falling asleep at 4, or falling asleep at 12 and waking up at 4. It was really quite ridiculous. I did get a lot of reading done though. On a bad night of insomnia i could get through half a book at least! This past week however, i have discovered a cure for insomnia! Unfortunatley, that cure was, having a fever and horrible sore throat for 3 days straight. (2 of those days, i might add, i had to take finals at 8 am and then study for others after them). So there it is. The cure to insomnia is to get really sick and then force yourself to stay awake while you're sick. It's almost 10 and i could probably fall asleep now. What a wonderful feeling! i'm cured!!!

So, as my partner in crime mentioned, i'm in great falls. Don't let the name fool you...it's not so great. This is actually not the town i grew up in, so i really don't know anybody here, or even places to go to hang out. Thus...i am blogging. Although, my brother and sister in law are also here, along with their 2 beautiful daughters ( one is 2 years, and the other 2 months), and i thoroughly enjoy spoiling them every chance i get.

Yeah...i'm bored. I don't know what to do with myself. The only thing i know to do in this town is go jogging on the river's edge trail. I'm not going to do that now though...it's dark...and quite frankly...the people in this town freak me out even when it's light out.

Done and Done!

So, both of us officially finished our junior years this morning at 8am! I(Autumn) am hanging out and packing and working until Saturday morning. Sarah is off to the great town of Great Falls this afternoon. First, though, we are going out with our two most favorite staff women (Jody and Shana) to Cold Stone. Yum Yum. They've put up with so much from us (especially Matt and Jody because we prank their house like it's our most favorite past time!) so we just wanted to say thanks for still being our friends! Oh, and I turned in my "intent to graduate" forms today! Scary! The real world is getting a little too close for comfort!
Well, on with the packing I suppose.....

Sick of it already!

I think that i can speak for both of us when i say that we are sick of finals already. It is only monday. I can't think of anything right now that i'd want to do less than studying for physics. I'd even answer some questions from "changes that heal" before i'd take this test....and that is definitely saying something! (good thing i'm done with the book b/c otherwise that might have been taken seriously. Whew!)

There was no real point to this post. I just really really don't want to start studying again. The highlight of my evening is that Eve, our wonderful, amazing, awesome, fabulous house mom is making us puppy chow as a study snack. She is the best house mom ever, and we love her to death.

Also...to those boys who think they are so sneaky playing pranks. You better watch out! You never know when you're gonna get hit back...so be afraid. muuaaahahaha (my best evil laugh)

I've learned that i swear when i'm filling up water balloons. I also learned that i swear even more profusely when said water balloons are thrown at me while i am napping on our balcony....
